Here's what we found on craigslist today, a great machine ever offered by Pontiac to American muscle car junkies in the 70s, this one of the pure blood of the GTO lineage comes with the highest-sized engine a 455 HO mated to the 4-speed manual transmission offered for sale in Dallas for $40,995.

Released in 1970 represents the second generation of the GTO lineage, over half a century mostly still in original condition, a nice example of the numbers matching GTO on the market today. The price looks good, we guess it doesn't take long, and it will disappear from the listing quickly.

Of the 41,000 GTOs produced in 1970, 4,146 were equipped with the new 455 HO engine, and one of them was sitting neatly in this bay. For the 1970 model, the official Pontiac rated the GTO 455 engine at 360 HP slightly low behind the GTO Judge 400 at 366 HP, and what makes it suspicious is the Grand Prix 455 engine was still ahead of both at 370 HP, so who's the beast?

The Interior shows well and has been refreshed with incorrect colors, but the seller offers back the original by request, with additional money for sure.
