Price $44,000
Location Tiffin, Ohio

Found this one a red 1971 Pontiac GT37 is rarer and faster than a GTO Judge, hides 400 V8 muscle under the hood. When we ask American muscle car enthusiasts, "What is the best muscle car ever built by Pontiacs?", All will agree, the GTO Judge will be first.

Despite its shorter production year than the Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro, the GTO is widely regarded as the car that popularized the muscle car segment and is therefore still very popular among muscle car enthusiasts today.

No car gets as much love as the GTO, and thanks to a huge muscle car cake in the 70s, insurance companies didn't want to miss out on that cake, so they charged pretty high insurance fees on all kinds of muscle cars back then, and the GTO was no exception.

Then Pontiac built this GT37 to trick the insurance companies for so long. Similar to the GTO, which comes from the LeMans lineage, and was introduced as an option package for LeMans in 1971, the GT37 comes with a wide choice of engine sizes, such as 350, 400, and the highest spec 455. Some units sold carry the 400 M22 Muncie V8 engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, as one of them offered here.

It would be one of the most desirable Pontiac classics out there, It's rarer and faster than GTO, and it also overshadows one of the coolest muscle cars that left the Pontiac assembly line during the golden era.

Detail about this car by its owner
Full size luxury cars started disappearing in 1972 and manufacturers were building personal luxury 2-door coupes with a combination of style and performance. One of the coolest of that era was the Grand Prix and here is a rare example. This is part of the Pontiac legend and time has been kind to it. Long nose, short deck, muscle car power and modern amenities make this investment a pleasure to drive. Clean and clear title in Owner’s name.

One of the most popular colors of the seventies was gold and every manufacturer had their own version. This one is Anaconda Gold and with a light Tan vinyl top it’s a classic combination that suits this generation Grand Prix handsomely. This is a survivor/driver, so there are some cosmetic signs of age, but the paint still shows off those crisp body lines and fit and finish are very good. Factory Rally II wheels are wrapped in new Cooper Cobra Radial T/A’s.

The interior is very cockpit-like with a driver-oriented dash that sweeps around you. All the gauges are easy to read and right where you need them. Stylish and supportive Beige vinyl seats with cloth inserts, Brown dash and carpets and stylish door panels work together in fine ‘70’s fashion. Amenities include: tinted glass, power steering and brakes, tilting column, floor shifter, center console with locking compartment and armrest, factory A/C and power windows.

This time-tested, reliable and powerful 400 cubic inch V8 engine is mated to a 3-speed Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The intake, carb, and manifolds are stock, but that V8 rumble is now exiting through newer stainless dual exhaust. Power steering helps keep you pointed in the right direction and power brakes with discs in front and drums in the rear provide safe stopping power. The GP platform is stable and nicely balanced for easy maneuverability.

This car is being auctioned on a new classic car auction site. We provide a 3rd party inspection, professional photos and a walk around video - See the auction here - https://www.clasiq.com/auction/1972-pontiac-grand-prix/
