Detail about this car
Up for sale coolest classic American muscle 1961 Ford Starliner in excellent condition only 1425 miles on it. Stunningly stoic in its presence, you must admit there is nothing quite like the look of an early 60's Ford Muscle Car with its stuck up stance, snorting at you with a "428 Cubic Inch Cobra Jet 'Le Mans' Engine". An American rocket glistening in the sun, waxed up, topped off and ready to go...

Of course you can smell the high octane pump gas igniting your senses as you twist the key, looking across the flowing hood, your lap belt cinched tight(if you had one), you release the clutch, your friend next to you tightens his grip on the "Oh Je***" handle, you romp on the gas, igniting the rear skins. As it gets squirrely, your grin widens as you jam it into second gear!

Sit back, relax and take a look at this exotic, muscle machine... a real deal FORD STARLINER that has been fully restored with a mind-blowing TANGERINE ORANGE exterior color and a contrasting BLACK BUCKET SEAT, CENTER CONSOLE INTERIOR

A car so iconic, so stunning, so outside the box, that the International Fashion Authority, 'Centro per L'Alta Moda Italiana', gave it an award for "Functional Expression of Classic Beauty"!

This absolutely gorgeous 1961 Starliner is equipped exactly how you would want it--Big Block 428 cubic inch engine producing a heart stopping 425 Horsepower, topped off by 3 Demon 2 bbl Carburetors("Six-Shooter") and a Ford Top Loading 4 speed Transmission. Of course there is the 3:25 Tru Trac Positraction rear end!

A full restoration was completed last year. The expression is way over used, but it truly needs to be "seen in person" to be appreciated. Pictures just don't do the car or finish justice. Simply gorgeous!! No rust bubbles, scratches, dirt, dings, or issues. Please take note in the photos of the clarity of the paint as evidenced by the reflections in the background

The undercarriage is extremely clean, very solid, straight, and rust free. During the restoration, it was cleaned and then painted black. Despite its 55 years of gentle aging, there are no shoddy patch panels, holes, soft spots, or issues. The trunk area is also very solid, carpeted and looks great. The car rides, drives, and handles like a dream: Straight and smooth down the road with no shimmies, shakes, or vibrations. She's extremely tight and surprisingly easy to drive with manual brakes (Front Discs) and Power Steering.

The 1961 Starliner was characterized by their thin roof pillars (Ford's Bubble Top), fastback styling and slippery aerodynamics. It truly epitomized the jet age design!

A beautiful new Interior was installed, complete with seat covers, foam, bolsters, headliner, carpet, door panels, weather strips, rubber, etc, and is exceptional. WHEN YOU SLIDE INSIDE, YOU WILL SWEAR THAT IT IS 1961 ALL OVER AGAIN!!! IT IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!

All of the lights, turn signals, brakes, gauges, windows, etc are functioning properly. Another story for the Factory Radio and Clock--they are present-the clock works when it wants to and the radio lacks an antennae. You will notice the SUN TACH mounted on the steering column.

At time of restoration, every ounce of this car was addressed. All chrome, stainless, and trim was either re-done or replaced. Same for the mechanicals such as brakes, shocks, fuel tank, sending unit, wiring, etc. Simply put, this STARLINER is turnkey!! Get in, sit down, hold on and drive her home.

All original and appropriate stampings and castings are in place. Unfortunately, the original wheels are long gone. In their place are 'Billet Specialties' High Polished Aluminum Wheels. The car rides on 225xZR17's in the Front and 295xZR17's in the Rear. All Prozes tires are new.

With its concours restoration, my 1961 FORD STARLINER has to be one of the FINEST examples in existence--A Blue Chip investment that will only increase in value over the years. I saw one listed with an asking price near $100k--it was very nice but lacked the engine and drivetrain that powers this "TANGERINE DREAM"! Try to find another one as nice as mine for the asking price!!
