One of the most sought after classic muscle cars, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7, restored to "Show" quality. Exceptional throughout, sharp looking and an excellent cruiser, powered by a 302CI and automatic, it's equipped with Edelbrock Aluminum Heads and Intake, Holley Carb, Headers into Dual Exhaust, a MSD 6AL Ignition, PS, PDB and A/C. A Monte Carlo bar has been added to stiffen the front suspension. The engine compartment has been detailed to "Show" quality. The interior has bucket seats, console, overhead courtesy lights and a Stereo Cassette. The exterior is finished in a dark maroon with a contrasting black vinyl top. The wheels are Magnum 500's with raised white letter radials in 235/60R 15. This black and red leather XR7 sports many factory options plus I added styled steel wheels. Less than 100K, collectors plates. Always dry stored yet over 4 decades a few small rust issues appeared and were addressed in a $10,000 paint renew in 2010 where the body was stripped to bare metal, repaired and epoxied before build up coats applied. The classic cougar for sale that needs restored. These cars have the same unibody as the mustang and uses a lot of the same parts. These are very rare cars. All matching numbers with factory 302 motor, automatic transmission and A/C. Motor doesn't run but is NOT locked up. It does need a new top due to the fact that it once had a vinyl top and the metal under it rusted away. It will need floor pans also but they are the same as the mustangs of that year and are not expensive. I still have everything for this car but a lot does need replaced(about 98% complete). I do have some new stuff that goes with it depending on how close we get to my asking price. I'm asking $2,000 O.B.O. I will not give this car away. I know what they are worth. But I am negotiable so please look at the car before making an offer. I can answer any question you have before you come to see it so I don't waste your time if it isn't what you want. I will not accept offers over the phone so please do not waste my time. Original steel wheels with hub caps. Rear wheels seen in the pictures do not go with the car.
