Finding this high-performance trim based on the third-generation Pontiac LeMans known as the GTO was designed to compete for the Muscle Car class cake, and the GTO achieved sales success when demand blew for the 1970 model year, about 40k units sold and this was one of them where carrying a 400cui model as the engine.

Yes, the GTO is the top caste from Pontiac LeMans lineage, like a special of its species, where it offered many specifications engine sizes, as an option, such as 350, 400, and the top 455 cubic inch models.


455/4V V8 engine, 1970 Pontiac GTO

It has been upgraded, and under the hood is a 455/4V cubic inch V8 engine. Yes, this was not the 400 model that the original owner chose when brought this car out from the dealer, and this is one of less than 9500 GTOs built with a 400 V8 engine mated with 4-Speed manual transmission.


Interior, 1970 Pontiac GTO

The black interior with consol shows well by a lot of angle photos. Decent condition overall, with no crack on the dash and no ripped upholstery. Not mentioned about renovated, we hope all the instruments and gauges on the dash work properly, and AC and radio would be perfect.


1970 Pontiac GTO Red Muscle Car

Originally, pepper green color when he left the factory, later repainted into Victory Red. However, the job was long ago done, there are rust spot bubbles reportedly, but it just spots not much, the rest is solid. It could be a reasonable offer at the price that reflects its current condition, which personally is better than most other LeMans variants has to offer out there.

• Original Muncie M21 close ratio has had a full rebuild. Shifter is a HURST completion plus with the original Hurst stick. Has tool steel bushings on the linkage.
• New Clutch
• Resurfaced Flywheel
• Quadrajet Carburetor fully overhauled and re-plated by Sean Murphy Inductions in Huntington Beach, CA. Also has electric choke conversion.
• Full MSD Ignition- 6AL & Distributor
• New Fuel Pump and added a Holley pressure regulator.
• New rear coil springs.
• Shocks are new Koni adjustables on all four corners.
• Large Hotchkiss Sway bar installed in the front.
• New Original replacement front Brake Calipers and pads installed.
• Drive shaft has had new U-joints installed and been balanced.
• Refurbished original Custom Sport steering wheel.
• New Package Tray
• All new locks around the entire car
• All new weather stripping & seals on the entire car.
• Rust roofing done in the quarter window area.
• Floor has been rust proofed and DynaMatted
• New kick panels installed and rustproofed inside.

Car runs and drives great. It should take you anywhere and is very complete. I’ve tried to add back every option that disappeared over the years. Comes with open and closed scoops for the hood plus some other parts.

Paint is in older condition. A rust spot bubble on the roof and one on the right rear corner are the only spots. Rest of the car is solid.
